JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars have narrowed their 2013 NFL Draft possibilities to two players.
In keeping with the NFL norm regarding such matters, that’s pretty much all we know nine days before the draft. And that’s likely all we’ll know for certain about the Jaguars’ draft plans until draft night, as Jaguars General Manager David Caldwell is unlikely to spend much time advertising his intentions.
But that doesn’t keep draft analysts from speculating, and at the beginning of this week the speculation – like the team’s plans – has largely dwindled to two selections:
Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd and Oregon defensive end/linebacker Dion Jordan.
At least seven national analysts released mock drafts Monday as the final full week before the draft began, with four -- Dane Brugler of CBS/NFL Draft Scout, Pete Prisco of CBS, Will Brinson of CBS and Charles Davis of NFL.com – selecting Jordan.
Rob Rang, Pat Kirwan and Pete Prisco of CBS all selected defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd of Florida for the Jaguars at No. 2.
What does that mean? Are the analysts’ projections the names on Caldwell’s list?
Perhaps. And perhaps not. Tune in draft night.
Until then, here’s the jaguars.com 2013 Mock Draft/Pro Day tracker as of April 16...MOCKING THE JAGUARS
