Former Pittsburgh Steelers DT Ziggy Hood agrees to terms with Jaguars.

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars’ busy week continues.

And on Thursday, it continued with the team again adding depth to the defensive line.

Ziggy Hood, a defensive tackle who previously played with the Pittsburgh Steelers, agreed to terms to sign as an unrestricted free agent with the Jaguars on Thursday, continuing a week of major roster moves for the franchise.

Hood (6-feet-3, 300 pounds), a first-round selection from the University of Missouri in the 2009 NFL Draft by Pittsburgh, started 46 of a possible 80 games in five seasons with the Steelers. He has never missed an NFL game.

Hood, 27, originally drafted as a defensive tackle from Missouri, registered 11.5 sacks with the Steelers and 140 tackles. He also has had seven passes defenses. He started 14 games in 2011 and 16 in 2012.

The Jaguars on Wednesday signed former Minnesota Vikings running back Toby Gerhart, former Denver Broncos offensive guard Zane Beadles and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Dekoda Watson to free-agent contracts.

The team also traded quarterback Blaine Gabbert to the San Francisco 49ers and re-signed veteran cornerback Will Blackmon to a two-year contract.
