Jacksonville Jaguars celebrate giving more than $1 million to Northeast Florida Community in 2013

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars gave more than $1 million to the community in 2013.

On Tuesday afternoon at EverBank Field, the team celebrated that – and continued giving to the youth of the community at the same time.

With Jaguars President Mark Lamping attending along with members of THE ROAR as well as Jaxson de Ville, the Jaguars on Tuesday held a pizza and ice-cream sundae party at the South End Zone Entertainment Plaza at EverBank Field.

The event celebrated the Jaguars awarding $1,095,000 in grants in 2013 to youth programs in Northeast Florida through the Jaguars Foundation.

“Today is a great day because we have a chance to celebrate a bit and let the kids come out and have a great time,” Lamping said during the event. “The Jaguars Foundation is such an important part of what we do each and every day to support those organizations that help make this a better place to live.”

Jaguars Foundation President Peter Racine agreed, saying the event was about “celebrating the kids and the youth of our community and the future of our community.”

“We’re really proud of our kids, but we’re also proud as an organization to be such a strong corporate partner here in Jacksonville and the greater area,” Racine said.

Also on Tuesday in the community:

*Jaguars cornerback Alan Ball and members of the Roar spoke to students at KIPP Impact Middle School as part of the NFL’s Play 60 Campaign on Tuesday morning.

*The Jaguars’ offensive line took 50 children from the Malivai Washington Youth Program and the Bridge of Northeast Florida Christmas shopping at the Monument Road Target Tuesday evening. Each student received a $100 gift card funded by donations from the players.
