JACKSONVILLE – The 2017 roster reshaping continued Tuesday at the defensive end position.

Defensive end Chris Smith, a fifth-round selection by the Jaguars in the 2014 NFL Draft, has been traded to the Cincinnati Bengals for an undisclosed 2018 draft selection.

The Jaguars announced the move late Tuesday morning.

Smith, the No. 159 selection by the Jaguars in the '14 draft, appeared in 19 games in three seasons, registering 19 career tackles and 4.5 sacks. He played in six games in 2016, registered four tackles and a sack.

He registered a career-high three sacks as a rookie in 2014.

Smith's trade leaves the Jaguars with five defensive ends: Calais Campbell, Yannick Ngakoue, Dante Fowler Jr., Jonathan Woodard and Malliciah Goodman. Smith was the third pass-rushing "Leo" end in the Jaguars' defensive scheme last season behind Ngakoue and Fowler.
