Jaguars select Notre Dame DT Sheldon Day with the No. 103 selection of the 2016 NFL Draft

JACKSONVILLE – Saturday dawned, and things stayed defensive.

That’s how it was around the Jaguars as Day 3 of the 2016 NFL Draft began, with the team once again selecting defense – and defensive line.

Sheldon Day, a defensive tackle from Notre Dame, early Saturday became the fourth player selected by the Jaguars in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Jaguars used the No. 103 selection of the draft, the fourth selection of the fourth round.

Day (6-feet-1, 293 pounds) has played inside and outside at Notre Dame and showed ability to penetrate and pressure the quarterback, registering 15.5 tackles for loss, four sacks and 13 quarterback hurries in his final season.

He finished his career at Notre Dame with 32 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.

The Jaguars selected Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey with the No. 5 overall selection of the first round on Thursday, then selected UCLA linebacker Myles Jack with the No. 36 selection overall in the second round.

They selected Maryland defensive end Yannick Ngahoue with the No. 69 overall selection in the third round on Friday.
