Senior Bowl rosters: Jaguars to coach QBs Carr, Fales

Posted Jan 15, 2014

Jaguars-coached South team in Senior Bowl will include top prospects such as Alabama linebacker C.J. Mosley, Vanderbilt WR Jordan Matthews.

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars have known for a couple of weeks they will be coaching the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

As of Tuesday, they have a better idea specific players they’ll be coaching.

Derek Carr and David Fales, quarterbacks from Fresno State and San Jose State, respectively, were among the players named on Tuesday to the South roster for the Senior Bowl, which will be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala., January 25.

The Jaguars will coach the South team, with the Atlanta Falcons’ coaching staff coaching the North.

A third quarterback is expected to be added to the South roster, likely from this weekend’s East-West Shrine game in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The South team also includes 22 players from Southeastern Conference schools, as well as four from national champion Florida State: safety Terrence Brooks, linebacker Christian Jones, linebacker Telvin Smith and center Bryan Stork.

Among the most highly-rated prospects on the South roster:

Alabama outside linebacker Adrian Hubbard, Brigham Young outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy, Louisiana State safety Craig Loston, Jones from Florida State, Oklahoma cornerback Aaron Colvin, Alabama inside linebacker C.J. Mosley, Arkansas defensive end Chris Smith, Georgia Tech outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu, Alabama defensive end Ed Stinson, Mississippi State guard Gabe Jackson, Arkansas center Travis Swanson, Vanderbilt wide receiver Jordan Matthews and Arizona State defensive tackle Will Sutton.
