The Jaguars played their first road game of the 2014 NFL Preseason. They did so in front of a nationally televised audience. The Monday Night Football crew called the Thursday night tilt between the Jaguars and Bears at Soldier Field. With the game on ESPN, that meant more eyes on the Jaguars from fans and the media, as well as more excitement from the players.

Gameday is exciting, regardless of the time.

Once the game was underway, Jacksonville made some big plays to get #JaguarsTwitter talking. Two young Jaguars collaborated to lead to a big play. Rookie linebacker Telvin Smith tipped a pass that led to an interception by second-year safety Josh Evans.

Rookie quarterback Blake Bortles made some nice throws on his way to a game-high 160 yards passing.

Defensive lineman Tyson Alualu recorded his second sack in as many games.

Paul Posluszny is coming off his first Pro Bowl. He missed Thursday’s game at Soldier Field, a place that has witnessed many great linebackers.

Despite getting off to a strong start, the Jaguars lost the game in the final minutes. The players were excited about the team’s progress.
