Jaguars play a second consecutive home game before observing bye week
The Jaguars host the Chicago Bears on Sunday, the club’s final game before they observe their bye in week six. The Jaguars will not play again in EverBank Field until they host the Detroit Lions on Nov. 4.
The Jaguars and Bears are meeting for the sixth time and only the third time in Jacksonville. The Bears lead the overall series, 3-2. The teams last met in 2008 at Chicago with the Bears winning 23-10.
The Jaguars will observe their bye on Sunday, October 14. The Jaguars own an 11-6 mark in the game before their open date over 17 seasons, with wins in six of the past seven seasons. Following the bye, the Jaguars will play two consecutive road games for the second straight year beginning with a trip to Oakland on October 21.
Tough competition to start the season
Three of the Jaguars’ first four opponents have a winning record and the four have a combined 11-4 mark. The Jaguars faced one of the NFL’s three undefeated teams in Houston in week two while Minnesota and Cincinnati both sport a 3-1 record heading into this week’s play. The other undefeated teams after four weeks are Atlanta and Arizona.
