Jaguars finalize 2014 coaching staff

Posted Feb 12, 2014

Jacksonville Jaguars name Dan Shamash defensive quality control coach.

Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley finalized his coaching staff today with the addition of Dan Shamash as defensive quality control coach.   Shamash spent the past two seasons (2012-13) with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his first season as coaching assistant and last season as quality control assistant to the head coach.

Shamash served as an offensive assistant with the Cleveland Browns from 2009-10 under head coach Eric Mangini.  He was a defensive assistant with Columbia in 2008 while also spending time in the game operations and special events department for the New York Jets.

A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Shamash was a three-year letterman at linebacker and was a part of the school’s 10-0 regular season record in 2006.  He graduated with a degree in statistics and philosophy.  He is a native of New York City and attended Riverdale Country School in the Bronx.
