Former Jaguars quarterback Mark Brunell will join the team’s broadcast group when he serves as color analyst for the Jaguars’ 2013 preseason games on WTEV-TV. Brunell will be joined in the booth by Kevin Kugler, who handled play-by-play for the Jaguars’ preseason games last year. Also new to the broadcast team is Tera Barz of Action News, who will serve as field reporter.
“I'm excited to join the Jaguars broadcast team and really looking forward to calling the four preseason games as well as doing the radio show,” Brunell said. “This is a new endeavor for me and I'm glad the Jaguars have given me this opportunity. It feels great to part of the Jaguars family again.”
Brunell played for the Jaguars from 1995-2003, and he still owns most of the franchise’s passing records. His 19-year NFL career included stops in Green Bay, Jacksonville, Washington, New Orleans and the New York Jets. Brunell is currently the head football coach at Episcopal School of Jacksonville.
In addition to calling Jaguars preseason games Brunell will serve as a co-host of Jaguars Thursday on WOKV Radio, alongside Brian Sexton and Brunell’s former Jaguars teammates Jeff Lageman and Tony Boselli. The show will air throughout the season from 7-8 pm right after the Gus Bradley Show.
Barz has been a news anchor and reporter for Action News since 2010. A graduate of the University of Florida, she began her career as an anchor and reporter at WCJB-TV in Gainesville. She will co-host the preseason pregame shows on WTEV in addition to serving as field reporter for the preseason game telecasts.
Boselli has served as the Jaguars’ preseason TV analyst for the past seven seasons, and this year he moves to the radio booth, joining Sexton and Lageman. He was teamed with Kugler last year for the first time.
Kugler serves as a play-by-play announcer for Sunday afternoon NFL games on Dial Global Radio. He is also the lead announcer for Dial Global’s coverage of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and Final Four. For the past nine years Kugler has been the voice of the College World Series while also handling play-by-play coverage for The Masters, NCAA football, the Big Ten Network and the 2008 and 2010 Olympics.
Jaguars All Access will continue to air each Monday at 7 pm, with Brent Martineau and Jeff Lageman hosting along with a guest player each week.
