Biography

Hayden 27, has appeared in 61 career games with 26 starts during five seasons in Detroit and Oakland, after originally being drafted in the first round (12th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Raiders. Hayden’s career totals include 223 tackles (196 solo), 35 passes defensed, three INTs and three forced fumbles.

Hayden, 5-11, 190, was signed by Detroit as an unrestricted free agent on March 10, 2017. During his one season with the Lions, he played in all 16 games and totaled 44 tackles (36 solo) and nine passes defensed. Hayden spent his first four seasons with the Raiders and appeared in 45 games for Oakland, totaling 178 tackles (160 solo), 28 passes defensed and three INTs.

A native of Houston, Texas, Hayden attended the University of Houston for two seasons after transferring from Navarro Junior College (Corsicana, Texas). Hayden played in 22 games (21 starts) for the University of Houston before his final season was cut short due to injury. He totaled 127 tackles (90 solo), 19 passes defensed, six INTs, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries as a Cougar, and earned First-Team All-Conference USA honors in 2012. In addition, he was named Conference USA Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2011. While at Navarro Junior College, Hayden led the team to the 2010 NJCAA National Championship.
