Congratulations to Andrew Norwell and Dawuane Smoot, named our 2021 Jaguars Foundation Community Leader Award Winners. This award recognizes individuals who are making significant contributions to the community through their time, actions and dedication.

Dawuane Smoot has been a community champion for the Jaguars Foundation since being drafted in 2017 and is active in the community with Feeding Northeast Florida, Jacksonville Police League and leading the charge in STEM education. Smoot and his wife Angel made a significant donation and commitment to the Jacksonville Arts and Music School to provide computers and teach a 12-course computer workshop program for students to learn computers, coding and networking. In bringing awareness to Jacksonville Arts and Music School, Dawuane featured JAM on his cleats for the 2020 My Cause My Cleats Campaign.

As a leader in the community, Andrew Norwell's impact extends far beyond the field, into communities throughout Florida, Ohio and North Carolina. Norwell and his wife Brooke founded the Norwell Foundation with the mission of blocking hunger and ensuring kids have access to healthy food where they live, learn and play. In addition, The Norwell Foundation focuses its efforts on providing scholarships to high school seniors and extending sports equipment grants to youth football programs. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Norwell participated in the Jaguars Foundation's Turkey Time with the O-Line, where he helped provide hundreds of meals for families across Jacksonville. Norwell has also volunteered and served meals at USO Jacksonville in support of the Jaguars Salute to Service initiatives.
