The Jacksonville Jaguars today placed cornerback Aaron Beasley on injured reserve. His roster spot was filled with the activation of cornerback Renard Cox from the practice squad.
Beasley suffered a shoulder injury in the December 9 game at Cincinnati and missed last week's game at Cleveland. This season, he played in 12 games, making 43 tackles and leading the team with three interceptions. The team's all-time leader with 15 interceptions, Beasley was a third-round draft choice in 1996.
Cox played in four games earlier this season on special teams before being waived on December 11 and signed to the Jaguars' practice squad the next day. A first-year player from the University of Maryland, he has had previous stints with the Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints and in the NFL Europe League. He wears jersey No. 36.
