Brackens bolsters cap

The Jaguars and defensive end Tony Brackens have agreed to restructure the 2003 year of his contract. The terms of the incentive-based contract reduce his salary cap figure for this season by more than $4 million.

Brackens, a second-round draft choice in 1996, enters his eighth season with the Jaguars as the team's all-time leading sacker with 49. He missed the final 11 games of the 2002 season with a knee injury. He underwent microfracture surgery on November 6 and is currently rehabilitating his knee. He is expected to be ready in time for training camp.
