Chandler, Leonard signed

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed free agent placekicker Jeff Chandler to a contract and re-signed second-year defensive tackle Matt Leonard.

Chandler, 24, played in the first two games in 2003 for San Francisco before being waived on Sept. 16. The 6-2, 218-pounder connected on six of seven field goals, including a career-high five field goals in week one, and seven of eight extra points for 25 points last season. The former fourth round draft choice out of Florida in 2002 made eight of 12 field goals as a rookie with the 49ers and was perfect on all 14 extra points for 38 total points. Chandler is a native of Jacksonville and attended Mandarin High School.

Leonard, 24, was orginally signed by the Jaguars as an undrafted rookie out of Stanford in 2003. The 6-3, 301-pound defensive tackle played in four games with four tackles and two quarterback pressures last season. He spent four weeks on the Jaguars practice squad.

The Jaguars now have 66 players under contract.
