Davis, Jones receive tender offers

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars' end-of-league-year work continued late in the week.

With the 2016 league year approaching, the Jaguars on Friday made moves designed to keep three current players with the organization.

Defensive end Ryan Davis and defensive tackle Abry Jones, both of whom are scheduled to become restricted free agents when the 2016 league year begins on Wednesday, were given one-year tender offers on Friday.

Both players have until Wednesday at 4 p.m. to sign the tenders or they will become restricted free agents.

If Davis or Jones opt to become restricted free agents, the Jaguars will have the right to match any offer the players receive.

The team also extended tight end Nic Jacobs the one-year exclusive-rights tender.
