Rick Ballou, Jaguars sideline reporter

What I want to see from rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2021: I want to see it all. He's the man that can turn around this franchise. As a rookie, he will make mistakes; hopefully, his growth is noticeable from game to game. He can make all the throws and I expect that we see him consistently throw it deep. His numbers aren't as important to me during his rookie season; taking some chances and trying to make big plays are.

Bucky Brooks, NFL Media and Jaguars Media analyst

What I want to see from rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2021: After watching Lawrence throw at minicamp, it is easy to envision him emerging as a top 5 quarterback. He displays an extraordinary combination of arm talent, athleticism and confidence. Most impressive, Lawrence carries himself like a franchise quarterback with a winning pedigree. I would like to see him display poise and grit during his rookie campaign, as he undergoes some rough moments as a young starter on a rebuilding team. How he reacts to adversity as a leader will influence and impact how the rest of the squad responds to the challenge. If Lawrence can master the nuances of elite leadership as a rookie starter, the victories will come in bunches for the Jaguars over the next few seasons.

Frank Frangie, Radio Voice of the Jaguars

What I want to see from rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2021: I know he is only a rookie, but I think Lawrence will have a very good first year. He is just so advanced. I'd like to see him have veteran numbers; I don't expect him to be better than the great players in the league out of the gate, but I do expect him to have middle-of-the-pack stats in Year One. I expect him to look like he belongs from Day One, which I think he will.

Jeff Lageman, Jaguars analyst and former Jaguars defensive end

What I want to see from rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2021: I want to see Lawrence stay healthy and show continual improvement throughout his first professional season. I don't think there is any debating his skill set or his leadership abilities. His mobility will allow him to have some early professional success while his understanding of the pro game develops.

Brent Martineau, Action Sports Jax Sports Director

What I want to see from rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2021: I want to see Lawrence wow us a few times and consistently show signs of improvement. This guy might be the second-best quarterback in franchise history by after the bye week. Lawrence will make some throws that make us say, "WOW!" He's far from a finished product despite all the hype, so gradual improvement and comfortability in this offense would be a good thing to see.

John Oehser, jaguars.com senior writer

What I want to see from rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2021: Steady improvement. That doesn't mean a straight arrow up. But the Jaguars need Lawrence to show over the course of the season that he is getting comfortable in the offense, that the game is starting to slow down – and that he increasingly is seeing the field from the pocket and making correct decisions under duress. While observers will focus on victories and losses, what the Jaguars need to see by mid-December is a young player that very much looks the part of a future franchise quarterback. If that happens, this season is a success no matter the record.

Brian Sexton, jaguars.com senior correspondent

What I want to see from rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2021: I will know it when I see it. I don't have a statistical measure that would make sense for a rookie quarterback – even the most highly touted rookie quarterback since Andrew Luck in 2011. We'll all be able to see his talent and his potential this fall even if he isn't putting up big numbers. Rookie quarterbacks make mistakes. The great ones learn quickly and improve rapidly. That's what I'd like to see from him this season.

J.P. Shadrick, jaguars.com reporter/editor

What I want to see from rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2021: Continued steady improvement. There will be some mistakes, and because of his star power they will be overdramatized, but let's check in every few games and see where he has made adjustments.

Ashlyn Sullivan, Digital reporter and host

What I want to see from rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2021: I want to see Lawrence be an NFL quarterback. I don't think we should expect him to do much more. The last day of mandatory minicamp was his best performance we saw from the offseason program; he is improving and that is a reason for optimism. To expect him to lead this team to the playoffs and lead the league in passing is unrealistic; let him learn how to be an NFL quarterback first.
