JACKSONVILLE – The heat stayed real, and so did the intensity.
But while the pads also stayed on for the Jaguars – and while the heat stayed high for a second consecutive day – Head Coach Doug Marrone shortened practice on Monday a week and a half into Jaguars 2018 Training Camp.
The Jaguars on Monday followed their longest, most-intense workout of '18 camp with a two-hour, closed practice in 88-degree temperatures at the Dream Finders Homes Practice Complex. It was the 10th day of '18 camp, with most practices typically lasting about two and a half hours.
Monday's practice marked the Jaguars' eighth consecutive practice in full pads. They practiced five consecutive days in full pads before an off day Saturday, followed by padded practices the last two days.
The Jaguars are scheduled to practice Tuesday before playing host to the New Orleans Saints in the 2018 preseason opener at TIAA Bank Field Thursday at 7 p.m.
Defensive coordinator Todd Wash spoke to the media before Monday's practice, and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett spoke to the media after practice. Coverage of those press conference can be found on jaguars.com throughout the day.
