JACKSONVILLE – The bye week seems to have the desired effect.
The Jaguars – who had their bye this past week – on Friday listed three players as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, meaning they are a comparatively healthy team midway through the 2017 season.
The three players questionable for Sunday:
Wide receiver Marqise Lee (knee), left tackle Cam Robinson (ankle) and guard A.J. Cann (triceps).
Cann, a starter in the first seven games of the season, was added to the injury report after practicing limited Friday morning. He said during Friday's open-locker room period he expects to play Sunday.
"I should be good," Cann said as the Jaguars (4-3) prepared to play the Bengals (3-4) at EverBank Field Sunday at 1 p.m.
Jaguars Head Coach Doug Marrone said either Tyler Shatley or Chris Reed could start if Cann can't play.
"One of those guys … they're both up," Marrone said.
Lee missed practice Wednesday and Thursday this week, then practiced limited Friday. Lee, a starter in the first seven games this season, did the same the week before starting against the Colts on October 22 – the game before the Jaguars' bye week.
Robinson, who started the first seven games of the season and who left the Colts game with an ankle injury, practiced limited Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
"He got better during the week," Marrone said of Robinson. "We have all day today for treatment, then all day tomorrow and obviously Sunday morning. We'll see where he goes."
*Running back Leonard Fournette (ankle) and center Brandon Linder (illness) were not listed with a game status on the Friday injury report. Both players practiced full this week, with Fournette missing the Colts game and Linder missing the last three games before the bye. "He had an illness, so think about yourself having an illness, getting over it and coming back and getting your conditioning back, your weight back and your strength back," Marrone said. "He's back to all those levels, so he's fine.'' …
*Marrone said a decision had not yet been made about wide receiver Dede Westbrook's status for Sunday. Westbrook, a fourth-round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, missed the first seven games of the season on injured reserve after core-muscle surgery. He is eligible to come off injured reserve this week, and could play Sunday if activated. "We have that ability," Marrone said. "We haven't made that decision." …
*Marrone said defensive tackle Marcell Dareus had "a good week of practice" after being acquired in a trade with the Buffalo Bills last Friday. "We're excited," Marrone said. "He'll be in there. He'll play." …
