JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars will be without their starting running back Sunday.
Rookie T.J. Yeldon, who started at running back for the Jaguars in the first five games of the season, was ruled out 90 minutes before kickoff of the team's game against Houston at EverBank Field on Sunday. He was among seven players ruled out.
Yeldon missed all three practices this week and was listed as questionable on the injury report with a groin injury sustained at Tampa Bay last Sunday.
Toby Gerhart will start in Yeldon's place, with Denard Robinson expected to be the backup and rookie Corey Grant also available. Robinson, who started the season as Yeldon's backup, missed the last three games with a knee injury.
Gerhart has rushed for 10 yards on five carries this season.
Also inactive for the Jaguars:
Safety James Sample (shoulder), wide receiver Marqise Lee (hamstring), running back Bernard Pierce (concussion), guard Tyler Shatley, defensive end Chris Smith and cornerback Nick Marshall.
The Jaguars ruled out Lee and Pierce Friday while Sample was doubtful entering the weekend.
