JACKSONVILLE – Tre Herndon is out at least one more week.
That became official Friday and was reiterated Sunday when the veteran cornerback was among six inactive players for the Jaguars' 2021 regular-season home opener against the Denver Broncos at TIAA Bank Field. Herndon missed the regular-season opener in Houston last week with a medial collateral ligament injury.
Head Coach Urban Meyer said this week Herndon could play next Sunday when the Jaguars play host to the Arizona Cardinals.
Also Sunday: veteran defensive end/linebacker Lerentee McCray will not play against the Broncos. He had been listed as questionable on the final injury report of the week with a hamstring injury and was deactivated Sunday.
The Jaguars' four other inactive players Sunday: rookie tackle Walker Little, tight end Jacob Hollister, rookie defensive end/linebacker Jordan Smith (knee) and rookie defensive tackle Jay Tufele.
