JACKSONVILLE – Carlos Hyde won't play for the Jaguars Sunday.
But Calais Campbell will play, the latter of which was the most positive news the Jaguars got when the game-day inactives were announced Sunday.
Campbell, the Jaguars' All-Pro defensive end, was not among the Jaguars' seven inactives announced an hour and a half before kickoff of their AFC South game against the Houston Texans at TIAA Bank Field Sunday at 1 p.m.
Campbell entered the weekend questionable with ankle and hip issues.
Hyde, a running back acquired from the Cleveland Browns Friday in exchange for the Jaguars' fifth-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft, was ruled inactive Sunday.
Also inactive for the Jaguars Sunday:
Running back Leonard Fournette (hamstring), cornerback D.J. Hayden (toe), cornerback Tre Herndon (hamstring), tight end James O'Shaughnessy (hip), defensive end Dawuane Smoot and nose tackle Eli Ankou.
It will be Fournette's fifth missed game this season and third in succession, Hayden will miss a fifth consecutive game and Herndon will miss a third consecutive game. O'Shaughnessy was injured this past Wednesday in practice.
