The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to terms on a contract with veteran free agent linebacker Nate Wayne today. Wayne is expected to sign the contract on Monday in Jacksonville and begin participation in the offseason conditioning program.
Wayne, an eighth-year veteran, had spent the previous two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before being released on Feb. 24. He played in nine games starting seven last season. He finished the season with 38 tackles (25 solo), one sack and two forced fumbles. In the postseason, he played in all three contests, starting one game.
The 6-0, 237-pounder was originally a seventh round draft choice of the Broncos in 1998 out of Mississippi. He has played in 85 games with 63 career starts. He has 365 career tackles, 16 sacks, seven interceptions and 10 forced fumbles with Denver, Green Bay and Philadelphia.
