Jags hit the zoo

The Jacksonville Jaguars made a stop at the Jacksonville Zoo on Saturday, September 3rd for a kickoff event to help fans get excited about the upcoming season. Several Jaguars players, Jaxson DeVille, and members of the ROAR were all on hand. Radio Disney participated in the event, providing live music and interactive games.

"This is an event that we would like to continue annually at the zoo," said Jaguars director of marketing Jennifer Perkins. "We want to have more events like this where we reach out and get a chance to interact with the everyday fan."

The pep rally gave fans a chance to offer some encouraging words to the players as they prepare to play their regular season opener on Sunday, September 11th against the Seattle Seahawks. Fans received autographs from the players, but they also offered words of inspiration as the team prepares for the game on Sunday.

"All of these fans are ready for the season to get started as much as we are. They are really pumped up," said Jaguars tight end Brian Jones.

Jaxson DeVille signed autographs and provided entertainment for all of those in attendance. He led all of the children in line dancing with music provided by Radio Disney, and he formed a conga line with outrageous dance moves and extreme twists.

Many members of the ROAR were in attendance, and they put on a live performance, with one of their routines that they perform on game day. They also signed autographs and took pictures with many of the fans.

The Jaguars and the Jacksonville Zoo teamed up to put on this event. Both organizations wanted to create something that was unique to this market and fun for all ages. The strong partnership that the Jaguars and the Jacksonville Zoo have formed allows Jaguars season ticket holders a discount on admission to the Zoo, when presenting the Jaguars Extra Points loyalty card at the gate.
