The National Football League released each team's opponents for the 2003 preseason schedule today, listed by week but without dates or times (which will be announced later). The Jaguars will face both in-state rivals, the Miami Dolphins and the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as the Minnesota Vikings and Washington Redskins.
The Jaguars' 2003 preseason opponents are as follows:
- Week 1 - August 7-11 Jacksonville at Minnesota
- Week 2 - August 14-18 Miami at Jacksonville
- Week 3 - August 21-25 Jacksonville at Tampa Bay
- Week 4 - August 28-31 Washington at Jacksonville
The games against the Vikings and Redskins will be the first for the Jaguars against those opponents in the preseason, while the Jaguars and Dolphins faced off in 1995 in Jacksonville's second-ever preseason game. The Jaguars and Buccaneers played last August. In the 2003 regular season, the Jaguars will host both the Dolphins and Buccaneers at ALLTEL Stadium.
The Jaguars own a 19-14 record in eight preseasons.
