Because there are still 4,000 tickets remaining, Thursday night's
game between the Jaguars and Kansas City Chiefs will not be
televised in the Jacksonville area. The game would have had to be
sold out at 8:00 p.m. tonight to avoid the blackout. The National
Football League had granted the Jaguars a 24-hour extension of the
blackout deadline yesterday in hopes that enough tickets would be
bought.
"We wish this game could be aired so all of our fans could see it,"
said Bill Prescott, Jaguars Vice President/CFO. "But we want them
to know that they can still see the game at ALLTEL Stadium
because tickets are available. We also will learn from this and will
re-examine our policies and pricing with regard to the preseason,
and we hope to implement a new approach for next year."
For fans wishing to see the game, tikets can still be purchased at the
Jaguars Ticket Office from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, on
the Internet at www.jaguars.com , o
