Jaguars claim offensive tackle William Robinson off waivers

The Jacksonville Jaguars today claimed third-year offensive tackle William Robinson off waivers from the New Orleans Saints and waived defensive back Robert McClain.

Robinson, 6-5, 297, has also spent time with Seattle and Washington.  He was originally signed as an undrafted rookie by the Saints in 2008.  He played in one game with the Redskins in 2009 and saw action at right tackle in one postseason game for the Saints in 2010.  In 2011, Robinson spent the first 10 weeks on the Saints practice squad before he was elevated to the 53-man roster on Nov. 15.

A native of Ponoma, California, Robinson was a four-year letterman at San Diego State where he played his final two seasons at left tackle.  He also saw action at right guard.  He attended Bishop Amat High School where he lettered in football, basketball and track.

Robinson will wear jersey number 70.
