The Jaguars gained two compensatory picks in this year's NFL draft (April 20-21), leaving the team with three seventh-round selections and one each in every other round except the fifth. The Jaguars traded this year's fifth-round spot for a sixth-round pick last year, which the Jaguars used to select guard Chad Ward, now with the San Francisco 49ers.

Compensatory picks were awarded by the league yesterday, and the Jaguars received the 247th and 248th picks of the draft as compensation for the loss of unrestricted free agents Mike Logan and Bryan Barker last year.

In other news, the Jaguars may be close to signing unrestricted free-agent wide receiver Bobby Shaw, who caught 24 passes for 409 yards and two touchdowns with the Steelers last season.
