Union Jax fan club member George Bedford made history at the weekend as he announced the Jaguars' sixth and seventh-round NFL Draft picks live from London.
This was the first time ever that a city outside of the USA was involved in the NFL Draft with George, joined by former Jaguars defensive tackle Marcus Stroud, being broadcast to millions live on Sky Sports and the NFL Network.
After a nervous wait for Dave Caldwell to make the selection, the decision was phoned through to the team in London. George then wrote his name in NFL history and made one college player's dream come true as Ohio State defensive tackle Michael Bennett was announced as the newest member of the Jaguars roster.
George completed his role by also announcing Monmouth wide receiver Neal Sterling and Notre Dame tight end Ben Koyack as the seventh round selections for the Jaguars. And he admitted the experience had been as exhilarating as it had been nerve racking.
He said: "It was really nerve-racking waiting for the Jaguars to make their pick but once I was told the cameras were rolling and it all just went really quickly. It was a brilliant experience and quite surreal.
"It's amazing to think that I am a part of American Football history as I am a huge fan of the Jaguars and the Draft is such a huge part of the season. It's something I certainly won't be forgetting in a hurry.
"I'll definitely be keeping my eye on the players' careers and it'll be nice to know I played my own little part in their Jaguars careers. I just hope they remember me when they are lifting the Super Bowl one day!"
