The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed second-year safety Michael Hamlin to the practice squad. Quarterback Keith Null was waived from the practice squad.
Hamlin, 6-2, 213, was originally a fifth-round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2009 and played in six games last season. He was released on Wednesday after playing in the opening two games for the Cowboys. Hamlin led the team with three special teams tackles against Philadelphia in an NFC Wild Card game last January.
A native of Lamar, S.C., Hamlin played four seasons at Clemson where he finished with 32 tackles, 22 passes defensed and 14 interceptions. As a senior, he ranked eighth in the nation with a career-high six interceptions.
