Official: Fortner signs rookie contract


JACKSONVILLE – It's official: No. 65 overall is signed.

Luke Fortner, the No. 65 overall selection by the Jaguars in the 2022 NFL Draft, has signed his rookie contract. The team announced the signing Thursday afternoon during the first week of '22 organized team activities at TIAA Bank Field.

All seven of the Jaguars' '22 draft selections are now signed.

Fortner (6-feet-6, 300 pounds), an offensive lineman from the University of Kentucky, played 55 games collegiately. He played in the Senior Bowl this past January and was a first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection this past season.

He allowed five sacks starting 36 games the past three seasons and started 13 games at center this past season. He started 23 games at guard in 2019-2020.

The Jaguars previously had six of their seven '22 draft selections:

  • Outside linebacker Travon Walker (Round 1, No. 1 overall, Georgia)
  • Linebacker Devin Lloyd (Round 1, No. 27 overall, Utah)
  • Linebacker Chad Muma (Round 3, No. 70 overall, Wyoming)
  • Running back Snoop Conner (Round 5, No. 154 overall, Mississippi)
  • Cornerback Greg Junior (Round 6, No. 197 overall, Ouachita Baptist)
  • Cornerback Montaric Brown (Round 7, No. 222, Arkansas)
