The Jacksonville Jaguars conducted two practices against the Atlanta Falcons today at Ferrell Fields. The morning session was held in a steady rain, but the weather cleared up for the afternoon practice, when the teams focused on blitz drills and 9 on 7. Six NFL officials, headed by Jerry Markbreit, worked the practices.

"We got some work in," said Jaguars head coach Tom Coughlin. "There's nothing we can do about the weather, so we played in it. Everything worked out fine. I saw some good things and some bad things, just like always."

Five players were held out of the two practices: defensive tackle Kelvin Pritchett (hyperextended elbow), center Michael Cheever (hip pointer), linebacker Tom McManus (knee), defensive tackle Don Davey (knee) and cornerback Ron Harrison (hamstring). Defensive tackle Jose White missed the afternoon session with a strained hamstring.

The Jaguars will take Sunday off before resuming two-a-day practices on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with one practice scheduled for Wednesday. They will have a walk-through on Friday before leaving for Charlotte, N.C., where they will play their first preseason game of the year next Saturday against the Carolina Panthers.
