Jaguars prepare for scrimmage

The Jacksonville Jaguars held a morning practice session in shorts and an afternoon session in full pads in their fifth day of training camp practice. The Jaguars did not practice at night for the first time during camp, instead holding an afternoon session as is customary each Wednesday. Head coach Jack Del Rio continues to prepare the team for the live scrimmage that will take place on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Alltel Stadium. The scrimmage is free to the public.

"I want to hit on real soon here that we are going to have a scrimmage," said Del Rio. "Let's not forget Friday night, it should be a lot of fun. I feel good about the development. The way the guys are working there ought to be some real spirited competition. There's been some impact out here on the field already, impact hits and physical play. There should be more of that Friday night, so I'm looking forward to that."

Camp will continue on Thursday with two practice sessions at 11:00 a.m. (special teams only) and 7:15 p.m. (full pads) on the practice fields at Alltel Stadium.

On Friday the team will practice at 10:30 a.m. (shorts), with the scrimmage scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. inside the stadium. There will be a brief autograph session immediately following the scrimmage. Brian Sexton and Vic Ketchman will broadcast the scrimmage live which airs on WOKV Radio 690 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Cole Pepper will serve as the field reporter.
