Jaguars Sign Defensive Tackle Greg Peterson

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed third-year defensive tackle Greg Peterson to the 53-man roster today. The club also waived defensive end Robert Henderson and linebacker Justin Roland from the practice squad.

Peterson, 6-5, 315, was originally a fifth-round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2007. Peterson played in 12 games the last two seasons for the Buccaneers before he was waived/injured on August 13. He has career totals of 19 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one fumble recovery and three special teams tackles. He appeared in 10 games as a rookie and saw action in two games in 2008.

A native of Kenansville, North Carolina, Peterson registered 10.5 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss in two seasons at North Carolina Central. He spent his first two collegiate seasons at Hinds Community College where he registered 11 sacks and 92 tackles.
