Jaguars Sign Fason, Release Liwienski

The Jaguars today signed veteran free agent running back Ciatrick Fason and released guard Chris Liwienski, who had signed with the team on July 31.

Fason, 25, enters his third NFL season after spending two seasons in Minnesota from 2005-06. The 6-0, 207-pound running back has played in 18 career games after being drafted in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft out of Florida. The Jacksonville native and Fletcher High graduate has rushed for 161 yards on 50 carries with five touchdowns. He also has three career receptions for 19 yards. He will wear jersey No. 35.
