The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed veteran defensive end Jason Gildon to a contract and placed second-year defensive end Brandon Green on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Gildon, 32, spent the first 10 years of his career with the Steelers after being drafted in the third round of the 1994 NFL draft out of Oklahoma State. He started 126 of his 158 career games for the Steelers before being released on July 5, 2004 and being signed by Buffalo. The Bills released him on September 5. He will wear No. 56.
Green played in three games for the Jaguars this season after spending his rookie season on injured reserve. The 6-3, 264 pound end recorded two tackles, one for a loss and one quarterback pressure. He was originally drafted in the sixth round of the 2003 draft.
