The Jacksonville Jaguars signed two more unrestricted free agents in safety Dawan Landry and cornerback Drew Coleman, the club announced today. Rookie defensive end Steven Wesley was also added to the roster and offensive lineman Sifa Etu was waived. The Jaguars' roster now stands at 91players, including tight end Marcedes Lewis who is on reserve/did not report and does not count on the 90-man limit.
Landry, 6-0, 210, spent the past five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He has started 64 games including all 16 games in three of five seasons. His career totals include 387 tackles, nine interceptions and 34 passes defensed. He has played in the postseason in three of his five NFL seasons.
A native of Boutte, La., Landry started all 16 games at strong safety for the Ravens in 2010. He registered a career-high 111 tackles and added one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He made 14 starts as a rookie in 2006 and recorded a career-high five interceptions. He was a teammate of Jaguars linebacker Daryl Smith at Georgia Tech where he graduated with a degree in business management.
Coleman, 5-9, 180, played in 67 games with nine starts over the past five seasons with the New York Jets. He was originally a fifth-round draft pick of the Jets in 2006. He produced career-high numbers in 2010 with 34 tackles, four sacks, five forced fumbles and one interception. He has played in the last two AFC Championship games and seven playoff games overall.
The 28-year old Coleman has compiled 93 career tackles with six sacks, two interceptions and 18 passes defensed. He excelled on special teams with the Jets, recording 38 tackles the last five seasons. A native of Henderson, Texas, he played two seasons at Texas Christian after transferring from Trinity Valley Community College.
Wesley, 6-2, 250, played three seasons at Miami (Fla.) before transferring to North Alabama as a senior. The Bartow, Fla. native had a team-high 14.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks as a senior. At Miami, he played in 33 games with 17 starts and totaled 10 tackles for loss and three sacks.
