As part of the partnership between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Andrew Jackson High School, former Jaguars Strong Safety and current NFL Ambassador Donovin Darius was the featured speaker at the school's opening Pep Rally celebrating the school's new year and first football game.  Donovin encouraged the students to excel, reminding them that they already have the talent, gifts, intelligence and resilience to succeed.

Donovin was joined by Kayla from The ROAR of the Jaguars, and T-Neisha Tate, Jaguars Foundation Program Coordinator.   Ms. Tate led the kick-off of the Honor Rows program.  The students have the opportunity to earn a seat to the Jaguars home game against the Chicago Bears on October 7th.  The goal setting program includes attending school every day and being on-time for all classes over the next three weeks, completing reading assignments and pledging to not use illegal drugs, alcohol and tobacco products.  Complementary transportation, a commemorative Andrew Jackson/Honor Rows t-shirt, hat and lunch are included.

Jaguars Foundation President, Peter Racine said at the Rally, "Jaguars Team Owner Shad Khan is passionate about education and its importance in helping youth achieve success in life.  The students and faculty at Andrew Jackson are ready to take this school forward and the Jaguars will be here every step along the way."  Racine added that Juniors and Seniors that complete the Honor Rows program will be eligible to apply for scholarships at Florida State College at Jacksonville and the University of North Florida.

The presence at the school is part of the Jaguars partnership with Andrew Jackson High School.  As a corporate partner, the team is making a significant investment in the students at the school.  Through the support of the Jaguars team owner, coaches, players and staff, along with other community and corporate partners, the goal is to return Andrew Jackson High School to its tradition of excellence.  Jaguars players, coaches, cheerleaders and staff will be participating in various events at the school throughout the year.
