MOTHERS AND CHILDREN WELCOME, TOO
The Weaver Family Foundation and the Jacksonville Jaguars will host a free event focusing on football and fatherhood next Monday, from 4-6 p.m. at Ferrell Fields at ALLTEL Stadium. The first 1,500 parents and children who register will receive goodie bags and be eligible for several prize giveaways.
The Jaguars Third Annual Father & Kids Day gives parents and their kids a chance to watch a Jaguars practice during training camp and hear from team members about the importance of fatherhood. In 1999, the Jaguars partnered with Family First, a Tampa-based independent non-profit research and communications organization, to promote the importance of being a good dad and how fatherhood impacts the family and our communities.
Delores Barr Weaver, Chair/CEO of the Jaguars Foundation, head coach Tom Coughlin, and Jaguars players, including quarterback Mark Brunell, offensive tackle Tony Boselli and wide receiver Keenan McCardell, will share personal stories. Jaguars play-by-play announcer Brian Sexton will serve as host for the afternoon event.
For more information, contact the Jaguars Community Affairs Department at (904) 633-6582.
Practice and registration begins at 4 p.m. followed by the program and prize giveaways.
