LB caught Jags' eye

North Carolina State's Pat Thomas was omitted from a lot of scouting literature, but he may have a chance to make a name for himself very quickly with the Jaguars.

"He's a run-and-hit guy. On our list, he was prominent," coach Jack Del Rio said of Thomas, 6-1, 240, and the Jaguars' second pick in the sixth round.

Thomas was a productive player at N.C. State, but he wasn't invited to the scouting combine and that left him out of a lot of draft rankings. He caught the Jaguars' eye, however, and now Thomas is with a team that has a perceived need at the linebacker position.

"We think he can play inside or outside," Del Rio said.
