JACKSONVILLE – Talk about being locked in.

Those who analyze, project and mock such things couldn’t be more focused – or more in agreement – about what they think the Jaguars will do with the No. 7 overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft.

We’re talking all-Jawaan Taylor-all the time in about as big a way as possible.

Taylor, a right tackle from the University of Florida, long has been the selection of choice by many analysts for the Jaguars at No. 7 in the ’19 draft. That trend reached a peak this week in the 13th 2019 jaguars.com mock draft tracker, with 10 of 13 analysts projecting Taylor to the Jaguars.

“They have to get better at right tackle and Taylor would be an immediate starter,” Pete Prisco of CBS Sports wrote.

NFL Media analyst and longtime NFL General Manager Charley Casserly agreed, writing: “The Jaguars want to be physical up front and run the ball, and Taylor allows them to do that; look for them to address their tight end need later in the draft.”

ESPN’s Todd McShay followed the trend.

“Taylor's strength and smooth feet help keep Nick Foles upright,” McShay wrote.

Taylor to the Jaguars also found statistical support, with NFL Network analytics expert Cynthia Frelund also projecting him to the Jaguars at No. 7.

“This will go a long way toward reducing the Jags' pressure and sack totals, with new quarterback Nick Foles taking the reins,” Frelund wrote.

For those not projecting Taylor to the Jaguars, Iowa tight end T.J. Hockenson remained a popular selection at No. 7 overall.

“It’s not that I don’t think the Jaguars need an offensive tackle more, it’s that I think Hockenson is better than any offensive tackle in this draft,” Monday Morning Quarterback’s Conor Orr wrote.
