JACKSONVILLE -- Here are senior writer John Oehser's pre-Week 8 2015 NFL power rankings. And we all know how important these are:

.New England Patriots (6-0) | 1 | Looking like they could go wire-to-wire at No. 1

.Green Bay Packers (6-0) | 2 | Rodgers & Co. always fare well versus bye

.Denver Broncos (6-0) | 3 | Solidified long-time dominance over bye

.Cincinnati Bengals (6-0) | 4 | May be no team more consistent during bye

.Carolina Panthers (6-0) | 5 | Remember when .500 was great in the NFC South? Like last year?

.New York Jets (4-2) | 6 | Road losses at NE don't hurt you in these important rankings

.Atlanta Falcons (6-1) | 7 | No such thing as ugly victory

.Arizona Cardinals (5-2) | 9 | They'll get to the postseason this year – and they'll be a tough out

.Minnesota Vikings (4-2) | 10 | They might keep "being overlooked" right into the playoffs

.Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) | 8 | You only withstand QB injuries for so long in this league

.Seattle Seahawks (3-4) | 13 | Waiting to hit their stride; maybe Thursday was a start

.New York Giants (4-3) | 15 | Somehow, some way, Big Blue is in first place

.Buffalo Bills (3-4) | 11 | Can they get healthy in time to get things right?

.St. Louis Rams (3-3) | 17 | Running, playing defense, forcing turnovers – and winning

.Indianapolis Colts (3-4) | 12 | Letting rest of division hang around

.Philadelphia Eagles (3-4) | 14 | Can Chip Kelly get offense, season fixed?

.Dallas Cowboys (2-4) | 18 | The Romo-, Dez-less fall has been long, hard and real

.Miami Dolphins (3-3) | 27 | So far, so (very) good under Dan Campbell

.Oakland Raiders (3-3) | 23 | Looking more and more like wild-card contenders

.Washington Redskins (3-4) | 20 | Season-saving rally against Buccaneers Sunday

.New Orleans Saints (3-4) | 21 | Held off the Colts Sunday; hanging around the wild-card chase

.Kansas City Chiefs (2-5) | 22 | Solid all-around Sunday, but five-game losing streak created big hole

.San Diego Chargers (2-5) | 16 | Troubling loss at home to Raiders Sunday

.Cleveland Browns (2-5) | 19 | Is it Johnny Time Again?

.Chicago Bears (2-4) | 24 | Nice little effort over the bye

.Houston Texans (2-5) | 25 | Losing Arian Foster part of long, long day in South Florida

.Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4) | 26 | They'll kick themselves for Sunday for a long while

.San Francisco 49ers (2-5) | 28 | Struggles continue in long season by the bay

.Baltimore Ravens (1-6) | 29 | Rare dismal start for one of NFL's most consistent franchises

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5) | 32| Gritty and gutty across the pond

.Tennessee Titans (1-5) | 30 | Five losses since season-opening blowout over Tampa Bay

.Detroit Lions (1-6) | 31 | League's worst record means midseason changes in Detroit
