JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars finished signing their '20 draft class Monday.
Linebacker/defensive end K'Lavon Chaisson, safety Daniel Thomas, quarterback Jake Luton and cornerback Chris Claybrooks – the last remaining unsigned players in the Jaguars' 2020 NFL Draft class – all have signed their rookie contracts. The team announced the signings Monday evening.
A quick look at the four signings:
*Chaisson (6-feet-3, 254 pounds), who played collegiately at Louisiana State, was selected in Round 1 with the No. 20 overall selection. He served as team captain in 2019 and earned All-Southeastern Conference first-team honors, playing 26 games with 17 starts and totaled 92 tackles, including 19.0 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks.
*Thomas (5-10, 215), who played collegiately at Auburn, was selected in Round 5 with the No. 157 overall selection. He played in 51 games at Auburn, totaling 199 tackles with 13 passes defensed and five interceptions. He registered 74 tackles with a career-high 5.5 tackles for loss and a pass defensed in 2019.
*Luton (6-6, 224), who played collegiately at Oregon State, was selected in Round 6 with the No. 189 overall selection. A redshirt senior who spent six years in college, he began his career at Idaho before transferring first to Ventura Community College and finally Oregon State. He played his final three seasons at OSU, passing for 2,714 yards and 28 touchdowns with three interceptions as a senior.
*Claybrooks (5-feet-9, 179 pounds), who played collegiately at Memphis, was elected in Round 7 with the No. 223 overall selection. He returned 13 kickoffs for 338 yards and a touchdown this past season – and had also 42 tackles, including 33 solos, with 0.5 sacks and a forced fumble and two passes defensed this past season.
The signings mean all 12 players in the 2020 draft class are officially under contract. The Jaguars previously had signed cornerback Josiah Scott (Round 4, No. 137 overall, Michigan State), cornerback CJ Henderson (Round 1, No. 9 overall, offensive lineman Ben Bartch (Round 4, No. 116, St. John's), wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. (Round 2, No. 42, Colorado), defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton (Round 3, No. 73, Ohio State), tight end Tyler Davis (Round 6, No. 206, Georgia Tech), wide receiver Collin Johnson (Round 5, No. 165, Texas) and linebacker Shaq Quarterman (Round 4, No. 140, Miami).
