Six Jags to NFLE

Six current Jacksonville Jaguars will participate in the NFL Europe League, which begins play this Saturday, April 2. The 10-week season will conclude on Sunday, June 5 in Dusseldorf, Germany with World Bowl XIII.

The six Jaguars are defensive back Marcell Allmond (Hamburg Sea Devils), linebacker Tony Gilbert (Rhein Fire), defensive end Omari Hand (Amsterdam Admirals), defensive back Ray Perryman (Frankfurt Galaxy), guard Joe Tate (Frankfurt Galaxy), and wide receiver Huey Whittaker (Frankfurt Galaxy).

"The NFL Europe League has helped expose our sport to an ever-growing number of football fans around the globe. With a terrific mixture of sports and entertainment, NFL Europe has made great progress in establishing itself as a part of the mainstream European sports landscape," said NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue.

On Saturday, the Berlin Thunder will host the Frankfurt Galaxy at 11:00 a.m. with the game airing on DirecTV. The Rhein Fire will travel to Amsterdam to take on the Admirals at 12:00 noon with the game airing on NFL Network. The Hamburg Sea Devils will host Cologne at 11:00 a.m.
