Several Jaguars players are in the holiday spirit and will be out in the community this week in advance of Thanksgiving.
Monday evening, fullback Greg Jones will provide a Thanksgiving meal for more than 65 women and children associated with Community Connections. Jones will sign autographs and take pictures while distributing food to the families.
On Tuesday, rookies Terrance Knighton, Julius Williams and Cecil Newton will distribute Thanksgiving dinners to selected families at the NFL YET Center. The players will sign autographs and take pictures with the families as they receive their meals.
Quarterback David Garrard and his family partnered with Community Connections to deliver food and other supplies to ten families. Garrard will purchase items needed to make a traditional Thanksgiving meal, and will deliver the food on Tuesday morning at the Lindsey Terrace Community Center in Jacksonville.
Running back Maurice Jones-Drew, along with his family, partnered with Winn-Dixie and the Family Support Services to hand out traditional Thanksgiving dinner to 50 pre-selected families. The distribution will be held at a Winn Dixie on Beach Boulevard Tuesday morning. In the afternoon, Jones-Drew will travel to St. Augustine to visit the Homeless Coalition, passing out Thanksgiving dinners to 35 families.
On Tuesday evening, Rookie offensive tackles Eugene Monroe and Eben Britton will sign autographs and take pictures with fans at Daily's on Baymeadows Road. The autograph signing will begin at 5:30 p.m.
