Mike Stoeber enters his ninth season with the Jaguars in 2020. His roles include overseeing the day-to-day management of the team's IT department, including hardware supervision, network administration, database management and integration of video and data for all NFL and college games. He also assists in all forms of data analysis for both the coaching and scouting departments.
Stoeber started in the field of football technology at the University of Florida in 1989. His first job was converting from 16mm film to a computer-based tape editing system for the Gators. While at Florida under Head Coach Steve Spurrier, he assisted in making the video department a leader in technology, including being one of the first teams to utilize a digital editing system. In addition to supervising the digital video equipment, he served as game analysis coordinator while overseeing data collections and use for game planning and recruiting. During his time in Gainesville, the Gators won six SEC championships and the 1996 national championship. After 12 years in the video department at UF, Stoeber was promoted to director of football operations. He served as business manager for the football team, assisting all aspects of the team including team travel, budgets, recruiting, football camps and compliance.
In 2005, Stoeber moved into the private sector, working with Sagio Technology and then XOS Technology after they merged. During the next six years, he served as a senior field support representative and director of product marketing. In field support, his role included visiting more than 60 NFL and college coaching staffs and discussing game analysis and statistical analysis. Based on these observations, he wrote the book titled "Football Game Analysis" and presented it twice at the American Football Coaches Association's annual meeting.
Stoeber was born on Aug. 22, 1968 in Davenport, Iowa. Stoeber and his wife, June, and daughter, Elizabeth, live in Middleburg, Fla. The Stoebers are heavily involved in baton twirling, as June owns a baton twirling studio and serves as an instructor for the University of Florida Gatorettes.
