OFFICIAL: Grant, Koyack sign tenders

RB Corey Grant, TE Ben Koyack sign tender offers; will return to the Jaguars for 2018

JACKSONVILLE – Corey Grant is officially back with the Jaguars for 2018.

So is Ben Koyack, who – along with Grant – signed a tender offer that mean they are officially on the Jaguars’ roster as the 2018 League Year begins.

Grant, a fourth-year running back, had been a restricted free agent until signing the offer. That meant a team could have signed him to an offer sheet, with the Jaguars having a chance to match the offer.

Grant signing the tender means a team can no longer approach him. He will play this season a one-year contract, meaning he is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the start of the 2019 League Year.

Koyack, a third-year tight end, signed an exclusive rights tender that also assures he will be on the roster. As an ERFA, Koyack this offseason did not have the right to negotiate with other teams.

Grant rushed for 248 yards on 30 carries and two touchdowns last season and has been a key change-of-pace back and special teams player for the team in recent seasons. He has rushed for 414 yards and three touchdowns on 68 career carries.

Koyack has 24 career receptions for 199 yards and a touchdown with five receptions for 38 yards last regular season. He caught a one-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Blake Bortles for the game’s lone touchdown in a 10-3 Wild Card victory over Buffalo this past season.
