QB Chad Henne re-signs

Jaguars re-sign backup quarterback Chad Henne.

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars moved to solidify their quarterback depth Thursday.

Chad Henne, the Jaguars’ backup quarterback much of the past two seasons, has re-signed with the team. The team announced the move Thursday.

Henne, who started the first three games of the 2014 season before Blake Bortles took over as the starter, has been the backup in all 29 games since. He originally signed with the Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent before the 2012 season.

Henne, 30, has started 22 games in four Jaguars seasons and has thrown 27 touchdowns with 26 interceptions during that span.

Henne, who played collegiately at the University of Michigan, originally was a second-round selection in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. He started 31 games in four seasons with Miami, throwing 31 touchdowns and 37 interceptions.
