'Ask Vic Golf and Game' plans finalized

Plans have been finalized and the registration form for this summer's "Second Annual Ask Vic Golf and Game" will appear on jaguars.com next week.

The golf tournament is set for an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Friday, Aug. 12, at The Golf Club of South Hampton – the site of last year's event – just south of Jacksonville on I-95. A post-golf reception and barbecue buffet in the South Hampton clubhouse will follow.

Golfers may register in two categories:

• Those wishing to play in a foursome with a celebrity golfer may do so for a cost of $80 per golfer. Celebrity golfers will be offered on an availability basis.

• Those golfers preferring not to play in a foursome with a celebrity may register for the golf tournament at $60 per golfer.

The cost of golf will include greens fee, cart fee, range balls and the post-golf buffet (grilled chicken, shredded barbecue, potato salad, assorted desserts, etc.). Prizes will be awarded in team and skill categories and each golfer will get a goodies bag and a hat commemorating the event.

What color hat? Well, khaki, of course. In fact, a dress code may be enforced: khaki shorts and white shirt. News of that will be forthcoming in the days leading up to this year's event.

The post-golf buffet will include an "Ask Vic Live" session, then we'll do it again the following evening, beginning at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Pepsi Cabana Tailgate Party at Alltel Stadium prior to the kickoff of the Jaguars-Dolphins preseason opener. This year, Vic will be there, and he promises to bring along some friends you'll enjoy meeting. The cost of a cabana party reservation is $50 per person and will include all-you-can-eat food and drink (beer, wine, soda and water).

Those needing tickets to the game may select from two options: Just outside the West Touchdown Club sections for $85 per ticket, or in the north end zone for $42.

The Hyatt Regency Riverfront Hotel (formerly the Adams Mark) will accommodate out-of-town guests in need of lodging for $89 per room (accommodates up to four people), per night.
