EverBank, Jaguars building a Jacksonville tradition with HabiJax

"We are very pleased to be working on our fifth home with the Jaguars and HabiJax," said Rob Clements, EverBank's chairman and chief executive officer. "Housing and economic development is a core EverBank mission and it's a natural fit to team up with the Jaguars and HabiJax to make homeownership in Jacksonville a reality."

Construction begins on April 1 and has a tentative completion date of May 27. EverBank associates, Jaguars players, coaches, staff and members of The ROAR Cheerleaders will work on the house throughout the building process.

"We share EverBank's commitment to our community and are proud to continue this tradition of service," said Jaguars president Mark Lamping. "By teaming up, we're helping to provide a deserving family a solid foundation and hoping to grow a thriving community here in Jacksonville."

The family who will live in this home has completed more than 300 hours of "sweat equity," or volunteer service, participated in financial literacy workshops, and provided a down payment to meet HabiJax guidelines and qualify to purchase a home.

"The dedication to our community by EverBank and the Jaguars is unmatched," said Mary Kay O'Rourke, HabiJax's president & chief executive officer.  "The tradition we have started is not just a joy for us, but the impact is felt by more and more families every single year."

EverBank has partnered with HabiJax since 1995, working on 72 houses and contributing over 900 associate volunteer hours annually. HabiJax is the Jacksonville affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.  To learn more about volunteering with HabiJax and their mission, please visit www.habijax.org.
